We are always trying to come up with better ideas to make our shop more professional and a more pleasant shopping experience for you. Within the past year, we have created new price tags and designed our own shopping bags as well as signs that we place on route to our shop for special events. All have our logo for customer recognition. Now we have come up with 2 new tags that we hope will make your experience in our shop easier and more enjoyable.
The tag on the left (above) that reads "Just Reduced" will have a neon green label that will contain the new price, the date and the item number. It will be attached to the original price tag so that you will know just how long the piece has been in the shop and the beginning price and thus know just how much of a reduction there is. The circular tag "Make A Bid" will be placed on a few specific items that are nearing their completion date in our shop. It has long been the policy of The Courtyard, that any item valued over $50 can have a bid placed on it up to 10 days before the end of the consignment period (or 20 days after the final price reduction). The "Make A Bid" tag will be added to the original price tag so that you can see what the price was and be able to make a reasonable offer. A bid card needs to be read and filled out with your name and phone number. The consignor is called and given the bid amount at which time they can a) agree to the bid offered, 2) reject the bid completely or 3) suggest a price higher than the offered bid. We then call the bidder and tell them what has transpired. We will not make more than one call because as volunteers, we just do not have the time to do so. It also prolongs the process because so often we have to leave a message. At this point, the bidder can make their purchase or reject the new offer. We felt that the neon green color for the ribbon and price would draw attention and be easily seen when entering The Courtyard.
We want to make our shop a fun and enjoyable experience as possible so that not only will our loyal customers keep returning but also word will spread and we will find new residents to our area and perhaps the next generation of shoppers who will find us and allow us to help them furnish their new homes, cottages, offices, lake house, etc. Please let us know how we are doing! Hope to see you soon.
