Special buying opportunity at The Courtyard

We are trying something new that we hope will be of great benefit to not only our valued customers but also for our consignors as well as Wellness House.  On Thursday, August 28th we are going to open the storage facility to the public so that everyone can see all of the new furniture and rugs that have arrived in the past flew weeks.  We have had 2 "Special Events" recently because we had so many things that had not yet gone into the shop and we did very well.  However, it seems that once we get a little space, we get in more than can possibly fit into it!  So here we go again -- we need to make all the new inventory available for viewing and purchase.  Because our regular shop is not very large, we often have problems getting everything moved in a timely manner so it is our hope that by opening the doors to storage, we can sell merchandise from there.  This will allow the consignors to sell their items faster and more importantly, get the proceeds to Wellness House quicker.  We are proud of the quality of our merchandise and try to price each piece so that it is fair for the owner and Wellness House but also be as reasonably priced as possible for our customers.  It's a fine line to walk but our merchandisers have been doing this for over 23 years and have had great success.

We plan to open the doors promptly at 10:00am and remain open all day and close at 7:00pm that evening.  This will give you time to come see what we have, take photos, go home and measure, text or email your pictures to your husband, family, friends, whomever, come back with them to see it and make the purchase, load up your car, have dinner in town and still have time to visit the other local shops in Hinsdale that remain open late on Thursday nights.  We ask that all items be claimed by the following Saturday to make room for Monday when we start this all over again.  If this is successful, we hope to do this every other month in order to provide you with the opportunity to shop without having to wait for each item to come into The Courtyard when space becomes available.  It is not possible to take people over to storage during the week because we just don't have the volunteers available to do that.  So storage will remain closed until we have these "open door" events.  There will be some photos posted to both our blog and our Facebook page and a email blast a few days before.  Mark your calendars now so that you won't forget.  School will be back in session and vacations will be over so we hope this will work for all of us.
